For more than 20 years, the Barton Foundation has been committed to improving the health of the South Lake Tahoe area and to moving Barton Health into the future. Since 1990, the Foundation has provided more than $3.17 million for purchases of equipment, direct patient care, caregiver training, and building improvements. The Barton Foundation is led by a group of community volunteers, serving 3-year terms as members of the Board of Trustees. This board oversees the direction of the Foundation, raises funds, evaluates and approves projects, and provides overall policy leadership and counsel.
Besides helping to fund annual hospital equipment and service needs at Barton Health, the Barton Foundation has taken on specific campaigns over the years: funding such projects as the Barton Community Clinic, Healing Design, and the Level III Trauma Center. In addition, the Foundation supports organizations that target the community’s unmet healthcare needs through their Barton Health Grants program. The Barton Foundation partners with community leaders, individuals, and businesses to help Barton Health change and save lives.

Your Donation in Action
Since its inception in 1990, the Barton Foundation has raised more than $6 million to ensure that state-of-the-art medical care is available right here in our community.
Besides helping to fund annual hospital equipment and service needs such as a radio base station in the emergency department and radios for area ambulances, new curtains in the ICU, funding for durable medical equipment and prescriptions for indigent populations, the Barton Foundation has taken on specific projects and campaigns over the years. Some of these campaigns are time-based and urgent such as the Barton Community Clinic project which will open in 2013 and the Level III Trauma Center project and some of them are on-going projects that support our patients and our community’s health.
