Barton Foundation is seeking nominations for the third annual Spirit of Philanthropy Award. This award recognizes an outstanding individual, family, couple or foundation who has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to the health of the South Lake Tahoe community and to Barton Health in particular, through their good works and/or financial generosity.
The 2010 award was presented at the 19th annual Foundation Gala on Dec. 4 to the original founding Board of Directors of Barton Memorial Hospital.
How you can nominate:
The honoree also must have 1) demonstrated exceptional civic and charitable responsibility and 2) inspired others to act philanthropically. This award is for a living person—if a foundation is proposed there should be at least one living founder. Nominees must reside in, have a second home in or have previously lived in South Lake Tahoe and continue to have a connection to the community.
The Spirit of Philanthropy Award selection committee is comprised of an active and past Barton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary member, active and past Barton Health Foundation Board member and the Executive Director of Barton Foundation. The nominations are presented to the Barton Board of Directors and the Foundation Board of Trustees for final approval.

This year's award will be presented at the 20th annual Barton Gala, Saturday, Dec. 3. All nominations must be submitted in person or by mail to the Barton Foundation at 2092 Lake Tahoe Blvd. suite 600, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 no later than Thursday, June 30.
