Barton Health is pleased to welcome internal medicine physician, Allison Steinmetz, MD, to its medical staff on December 6, 2010.
Allison Steinmetz, MD joins Barton Internal Medicine after ten years of medical practice in Santa Cruz, California with Dominican Hospital. Prior to practicing in Santa Cruz, Dr. Steinmetz spent three years as a physician in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Steinmetz is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She graduated from the Tulane University School of Medicine in 1996. She completed her Internship and Residency at the University of Texas, Houston in 2000. “I enjoy finding the balance of traditional medicine and alternative therapies to treat the whole person based on their preferences,” stated Dr. Steinmetz. “My goal is to be able to treat families and help them with their medical decisions.” Dr. Steinmetz serves as a primary care physician for all ages with a specific talent for treating menopausal issues, teenagers and women’s health.
Dr. Steinmetz’s excitement for the outdoors is what brought her here to Tahoe. She enjoys snow sports, hiking and surfing. She has two young children who are also eager to participate in the great outdoors.
Dr. Steinmetz will join Internal Medicine physicians, Gary Cooper, MD, Paula Crenshaw, MD and Jay Chung, MD, as well as Ear, Nose and Throat physician Ronald Roth, MD at 2175 South Avenue in South Lake Tahoe.
