Barton Hospice and the Barton Foundation are seeking volunteers* to assist with the third annual Camp Sunrise - Children’s Bereavement Camp, June 17 - 19 at Camp Galilee & Conference Center in Zephyr Cove.
Camp Sunrise is designed for children ages 7 to 14 that have experienced the death of a family member. It is founded on the understanding that every child deserves the opportunity to grieve in a safe, supportive and understanding environment.
Children will receive grief education and support from trained counselors and social workers. The weekend is designed to leave them with a more positive outlook for the future.
If you are interested in volunteering or know someone who is, *volunteers must attend one (1) of the following mandatory training sessions:
- Thursday, June 2 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., South Lake Tahoe
- Tuesday, June 7 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., Carson Valley
