To Our Community
I am captivated by the patient stories I have heard and impressed by the advancements we have made for our community in this past year.
As I stepped into my new role as Chief Executive Officer in November, the Joint Commission announced its arrival. The Joint Commission accredits and certifies hospitals and health systems across the nation that commit to high quality and exceptional safety standards. The Commission’s surveyors carefully observed nearly every Barton facility over the course of a week. I watched Barton staff and physicians take on this challenge with confidence and ease; I felt proud and assured that I was part of an incredible team. I was not surprised when we received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval.
A new chapter of health care is beginning, and I look forward to being a part of the Barton Health team in 2016. Locally, we’ve been working with key partners to support and implement an action plan based on last year’s Community Health Needs Assessment. We are launching some great initiatives to reach our goal of increasing preventative medicine options and stronger population health management. We are also looking forward to celebrating the groundbreaking of the Robert Maloff Center of Excellence, one of our many efforts to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of our community.
This Community Benefit Report highlights some of our efforts to provide consistently exceptional care in the clinical setting and in our community. We welcome your feedback and hope you see how your input is shaping the future of our organization. We’re listening to you and making positive changes for our patients and within our organization.
