About Our Programs

At Barton Rehabilitation Services keeping active people active is more than just a saying; it’s a way of life! Our comprehensive programs are designed to get you back in the game of life quickly and safely.

Hand Therapy – The Barton Health Rehabilitation Services offers the only comprehensive Certified Hand Rehabilitation Program in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Barton Health is fortunate to have our own Certified Hand Therapists. The Hand program is designed to achieve optimum hand function following surgical repair or injury.

Occupational Therapy – Occupational Therapy evaluates individuals whose ability to function is impaired or threatened by disease or injury. The focus is to regain the individual’s highest functional level of independence. The procedures include exercises for strengthening, fine motor control, range of motion, neuro-muscular re-education, cognitive exercise, ADL and adaptive training, splinting and application of physical agents to relieve pain.

Speech & Language Therapy – Speech and Language Therapy provides services to prevent, identify, diagnose, and treat patients in the areas of expressive and receptive language skills, swallowing, and cognitive functioning. This is part of a continuum of service, which also includes coordinating care with other health care services as well as educating
patients and family members for the highest level of rehabilitation.

Physical Therapy – Physical Therapy evaluates and treats individuals whose ability to function is impaired or threatened by disease or injury (musculoskeletal or neurological related).
Procedures include exercises for strengthening, endurance, coordination, range of motion, motor activity and learning, instruction for daily living, the use of assistive devices, and the application of physical agents to relieve pain.

Sports Performance Programs

Runner's & Gait Analysis Program – Designed to evaluate, diagnose and treat running and day-to-day related injuries, our physical therapists specialize in helping you improve your running style and find the best athletic shoe to meet your performance needs and prevent injuries.

PT BikeFit Program – Barton’s PT BikeFit combines the science of cycling and biomechanics with the art of the fit to accomplish these goals. Performed by a licensed physical therapist, your Barton PT BikeFit is tailor-made to meet every individual need you may have.

AlterG – Barton’s AlterG is designed to help patients run and walk without having to bear their full body weight, the treadmill reduces exercise impacts and lessens joint compression to optimize rehabilitation and physical therapy outcomes.
