Performance Lab Programs
, $200 for package RMR/VO2 Max | $150 only VO2 Max
VO2 Max testing is geared toward client’s who are interested in completing a cardio fitness assessment that measures peak oxygen consumption, calories burned at different heart rates, aerobic and anaerobic threshold, as well as target intensity zones. A VO2 test measures the amount of oxygen the body uses at different exertion levels while exercising on a bike or treadmill.
, included as VO2 Max test
Our lode ergometer, Excalibur Sport with Pedal Force Measurement, allows an athlete to exercise at workloads between 8 to 2500 watts. The high watt capacity along with the saddle and handlebar height and angle display has made it the gold standard in ergometry. This ergometer can be used for training and VO2 Max testing.
Resting Metabolic Rate
, $200 for package RMR/VO2 Max | $100 only RMR
Resting metabolic rate (RMR) testing is geared toward clients who wish to identify their unique target caloric zones in order to lose weight or support their caloric needs during training. The exercise physiologist and physical therapist will advise the client as to how many calories they will need to intake in order to stay in the weight maintenance zone or the weight loss zone based on their unique resting metabolic rate (RMR). The calculated RMR will also be used to estimate calories burned during exercise and during normal activities of daily living.
, $150 | $300 including orthotics
A gait analysis assessment performed by the PT is designed to assess the client or patient’s running mechanics through video gait analysis. The PT will evaluate and assess foot mechanics on land and treadmill, discuss strategies to successfully modify running gait, and if needed recommend custom orthotics. The overall goal is to improve running mechanics.
, $180 basic foot assessment and orthotics
Orthotics are orthopedic devices used to alter or modify foot function and are designed to treat, adjust, and support various biomechanical foot disorders. Using the FASTTECH technology, Barton’s physical therapists use the same customized system used and trusted by the US Marathon Team. (The cost may be covered by insurance, subject to co-pays and deductibles. Pricing is subject to change.)
The biomechanical analysis and cycle fitting is geared toward clients and patients who are interested in assessing their posture, flexibility, range of motion, strength, and balance on their bike. The goals of our PT BikeFit are to increase pedaling efficiency and power, improve handling performance, decrease overuse injuries, decrease saddle soreness, and reduce/eliminate back, neck and knee pain.
, $200 for 10 sessions
The CompuTrainer is geared towards clients who want to train on their own bike on an indoor bike trainer with a precision ergometer measuring power wattage, heart rate and cadence. Clients can pick a race/course/trail to simulate on the CompuTrainer and can watch a video that takes them to the scenery of that race/course/trail.
, $200 for 10 sessions
The Alter-G is geared toward patients who are seeking an opportunity to rehab from surgery, or train through injury, without pain. The unweighting technology reduces the impact of walking or running, while your body goes through the normal healing process. The Alter-G is useful to client’s who are looking for reduced impact training and conditioning or weight control and reduction. Athletes looking to increase their speed or recover from a hard training session have seen that training on the Alter-G has helped them achieve their overall fitness goals.

A functional knee test is geared towards patients seeking clearance to return to sport. Various strength and agility exercises are performed to assess limb symmetry.
, $200 for 12 sessions
The Bridge Program is geared to clients who will continue a formalized sports performance training program upon completion of their rehabilitation program or if an athlete requests a specific sport performance training program that would prepare them for their competition. Sports specific exercises will be instructed by a certified trainer geared for return to sport following specific return to sport protocols. The certified trainer will be consulted by both a physical therapist and physician.
