About Tahoe Fit

Tahoe Fit workouts include a variety of cardio, indoor cycling, Barre, yoga, kickboxing, strength, and functional movement classes, in addition to unique quarterly classes designed to take advantage of the season and Tahoe surroundings like stand up paddle boarding, marathon training or guided mountain biking!

Toning Classes

Barre
Barre is a beautiful combination of Pilates and Yoga that improves strength and enhances flexibility. Come experience this body changing, low impact workout that is approachable for all fitness levels and ages. No dance experience is necessary.

Pilates
Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.

Yoga Classes

Power Yoga
This class provides a vigorous and athletic style of yoga with an emphasis on strength and flexibility, along with Barre, a beautiful combination of Pilates and dance. The perfect class for those looking for higher intensity strength and flexibility training.

Yoga Flow
Yoga is the art and science of unifying body, mind, and spirit. The practice of yoga emphasizes the linking of physical poses, breath work, and meditations into a rhythmic, flowing practice. Yoga’s history and philosophies will be skillfully interwoven throughout class, ensuring a compete experience. Enjoy the health, peace, strength, flexibility, and coping skills that Yoga will bring to your life. Beginners welcome. Pose modifications provided.

Gentle Yoga
Restorative yoga is intended to take the mindfulness that is found in all disciplines of yoga to the next level. It’s still and slow, and it’s as much (or more) about the mind as it is the body. This class is designed to align the physical and mental by practicing gentle movements and stillness. It allows us room to see clearly, find our natural state, and to heal.

Cardio Classes

Cardio Fit
High intensity interval training (HIIT) combined with resistance training to increase cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength while building lean muscle mass. This class offers a variety of exercise intensities and modifications designed to challenge all fitness levels.

Energize
Energize offers a high intensity workout regime that is effective for improved fitness and weight loss.  It’s a combination of Tabata, AMRAP and Body Blast. Maximum results in less time. All levels welcome.

Kickboxing
This martial arts kickboxing class is driven by empowering you. Size does not matter and you will get your sweat on by learning a collective of techniques from many disciplines of martial arts. Anyone of any fitness level or ability can do this class; come get in shape and learn self-defense and offensive techniques on heavy bags, Thai pads, and hand pad combinations.

Note: Gloves and hand-wraps will be used. You may be able to borrow gloves for your first classes and may wish to purchase your own thereafter.

Indoor Cycling
This class utilizes indoor cycling equipment to improve participants’ cardiovascular fitness and endurance level. Each individual will be precision fit to their bike for comfort and injury prevention and taught proper cycling technique. Participants will receive balance, strength and core training. In addition, each class will include stretching and flexibility.

Strength

Functional Fitness
This class is based on functional fitness; train the body to move, look and feel your best. Improve strength, flexibility, cardio and boost your metabolism. Using evidence-based research, this class blends mobility training, weights and intervals. Great for all fitness levels.

NEW - 30 Minute, Midday Classes

Strength Circuit
Come join us for this mid-day 30 minute strength circuit workout! Circuit training is a fast-paced class in which you do one exercise for 30 seconds to 5 minutes and then move on to another exercise. We will alternate an aerobic activity (like stepping or stationary cycling) with a muscle-strengthening activity (like using weight machines).

High Intensity Intervals
This High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class is a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout. This interval-based class combines full-body strength training with high intensity cardio bursts designed to tone your body, improve your endurance and clear your mind.

Strength

Spring Snowshoeing
**Bring your own equipment.**
Spring snowshoeing is here! As the saying goes, "If you can walk, you can snowshoe. “We will meet up at various locations around South Lake Tahoe and take about an hour snowshoe hike into the wonderful snow covered outdoors. We will work on developing a few techniques like: widening your stance (to avoid stepping on snowshoe frames), going up and down hills, traversing slopes and pole usage.
Schedule & Directions:
April 6th - High Meadow Trail Head - Highway 50 W to traffic light in Meyers > left onto Pioneer Trail. Proceed approx four miles to Sierra House School > right turn on High Meadows Trail. Trailhead is at the top where road terminates at gate.
April 13th - South Tahoe High School - Lake Tahoe Blvd W to high school entrance at first stop sign. Turn right, proceed up road to high school parking lot.
April 20th – Columbine Trailhead - From Al Tahoe Blvd go right on Pioneer Trail to Marshall, go left on Marshall to Columbine, go right on Columbine and Park at end of street (dead end).
April 27th – Taylor Creek Loop - Drive approximately three miles north of the City of South Lake Tahoe on the lake side of SR 89. The Taylor Creek Visitor Center entrance is just past the entrance to the Tallac Historic Site and Fallen Leaf Lake Road.
