How does this benefit our community?
Barton Health is expanding and improving diagnostic and treatment protocols with access to Cleveland Clinic’s innovative best practices in areas like:
- Cancer care – With guidance from Cleveland Clinic’s leading cancer specialists, we’re working to expand local cancer services.
- Heart care – We’re enhancing access to high-quality cardiology services in our region, including implementing cutting edge technology for heart imaging with guidance from Cleveland Clinic’s innovative heart and vascular leaders.
- Neurology – We’re working to expand access to care for brain and nervous system conditions — a growing need in our community. As part of this effort, Cleveland Clinic’s assessment identified the addition of 3T MRI imaging as a key opportunity to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
- Hospital Design – As the hospital project is planned, and design teams begin to think about interior space and what is needed, Barton has leaned into the operational knowledge of Cleveland Clinic teams, which have considerable experience with healthcare facilities, and they’ve provided input including optimizing adjacencies of services and trends for patient room design to optimize healing.
Additionally, as members of the Cleveland Clinic Connected program, Barton’s physicians and staff will be able to access educational opportunities, such as regular safety, quality, and patient experience forums hosted by Cleveland Clinic teams — leading to their continued growth.
Will Cleveland Clinic doctors be working at Barton Health?
No. Your care will still be delivered by the trusted Barton Health doctors, nurses, and staff you know. This program supports our local team with the latest medical knowledge and best practices — it doesn’t replace them.
Is Barton Health being bought by Cleveland Clinic?
No. Barton Health remains an independent, community-based, non-profit hospital. We are not being bought, merged, or managed by Cleveland Clinic.
Does this mean I have to travel to Cleveland for care?
No. The goal of this membership is to bring more high-quality care to you — right here in Tahoe.
Will this affect my insurance or the cost of my care?
The cost of your care will not change and there are no changes to Barton’s insurance-billable services, as a result of the Cleveland Clinic Connected membership. Barton Health continues to focus on providing high-quality, affordable care to our region.
