Community Support During Loss

When tragedy strikes, its emotional impact can be profound. For many in our community, a recent and sudden loss has left us reeling and struggling with grief. During times like these, it’s important to recognize that we all process trauma in different ways. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to grieve, but there are ways to begin to cope.

You Are Not Alone

It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to not know what to say.

Resources are available in our community, including student/ employee support at our schools.

Additionally, free community counseling sessions are available at the Barton Center for Orthopedics and Wellness (2170B South Avenue):

  • Thursday, June 12 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
  • Monday, June 16 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 17 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Community Heals

Grief and trauma affect everyone differently, but compassion for ourselves, our children, and our community can make a powerful difference. We heal by holding space for one another, sharing what hurts, and remembering that none of us has to carry pain alone. Our hearts go out to all of those affected by this loss.
