Barton Athlete Highlight: Claire Hewitt-Demeyer Reflects on Sister Summit

Claire attended Sister Summit, ‍a 100% female backcountry ski & snowboard event in Revelstoke, Canada in November 2023.

At Sister Summit, I found myself amidst a gathering of the ski and snowboard industry’s top female figures. The week was an immersion in empowerment, growth, and profound gratitude.

This empowering experience highlighted not only the breathtaking adventures on untouched snow, but also the stories behind these phenomenal athletes. 

To me, Sister Summit stands as a beacon of progress and equality in skiing and snowboarding. Beyond the adrenaline-fueled descents and boundary-pushing feats, it was a platform pulsating with talks that ignited inspiration, workshops that kindled growth, and networking sessions that fostered community. 

It wasn’t solely about perfecting technique; it was about carving paths toward equality and amplifying the sport’s growth. 

Despite a slow start to the season in the Monashee Mountains, the energy soared as we shredded through a meter of snow, setting the tone for an uplifting experience.

My heart is full and I look forward to my connections with these talented women, as well as the growth and continued success of Sister Summit.
