Take Care of Your Entire Health
In our fast-paced world, where many people find themselves sitting in front of a screen for work or pleasure, there has been a rise in reports of feeling depressed and anxious. Taking care of your mental health is equally as important as your physical health. Slow down, take a deep breath, and find your peace.
Ditch the car. Commuting in a car daily is known to contribute to stress and loss of concentration. Try riding a bike or walking to work instead.
Turn off the TV. Trade in the TV show at night for a family game, a walk outside, or working on a project.
Try something new. Pick up a hobby, volunteer at a local organization, or pursue a passion to bring new invigoration into your life. A sense of accomplishment can do wonders for your emotional state.
If you're struggling with your emotional and mental well-being, remember there is hope. Talk to your healthcare provider and discuss your symptoms, request a referral for mental health counseling, or consult with a life coach.
Local help is available; visit www.bartonhealth.org/behavioralhealth for a list of local providers and organizations. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) can also provide resources, support, and information on mental health needs for yourself and your loves ones.
