Barton Foundation Grants
We know you share our concern about the impact of COVID-19 in our community. Join the Barton Foundation as we raise funds to support our most vulnerable community members, frontline healthcare workers and first responders. The COVID-19 Response Fund will provide flexible and discretionary resources for community members facing challenges and financial hardship from impacts of the coronavirus, particularly helping with food insecurity. The need is greater than ever in our community. Please join us in supporting this endeavor.
With the impact of coronavirus COVID-19 in the area, the Barton Foundation has created a COVID-19 Response Fund aimed at helping community members and healthcare workers affected by the outbreak.
The COVID-19 Response Fund provides flexible and discretionary resources to address social determinants of health like food insecurity, in addition to supporting healthcare workers with protective equipment and financial relief.
Through the COVID-19 Response Fund, the Foundation is also supporting Barton Memorial Hospital's Skilled Nursing Facility. This long-term care facility's residents are some of the most vulnerable patients at the hospital, with visitor access being highly restricted to protect them and their care providers.
This fund is made possible through the generosity of community members. The COVID-19 Response Fund is administered by the Barton Foundation Board of Trustees, and is meant to provide financial assistance to members of the South Lake Tahoe community who have been disproportionately impacted by coronavirus and the economic consequences of this crisis.
Due to an extremely high demand, we are no longer accepting COVID 19 Response Fund grant applications.
Beginning Monday, Feb 1st, the Barton Foundation will be distributing COVID 19 response fund grants at The Attic, 970 Lodi Ave, South Lake Tahoe, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am - 12pm.
In order to assist as many community members as possible, one $25 Safeway Food Card will be distributed in person to each family/individual (age 18+) per day. No application is required.
Bread & Broth are also distributing the food cards with their weekly grocery bags on Mondays, while supplies last, and the Coalition for the Homeless and Boys & Girls clubs are organizing cards for some of their neediest families.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
