About Dr. Cummings
Dr. Jeffrey Cummings is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in treating complex shoulder and knee injuries. Dr. Cummings completed his medical degree and orthopedic surgery residency at Loma Linda University in Southern California. Following his residency, he served as an orthopedic surgeon in the U.S. Air Force at Fairchild Air Force Base. He then refined his surgical skills and subspecialties in the shoulder and knee during his San Diego Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego.
After he completed his fellowship, Dr. Cummings provided orthopedic care at Tahoe Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic for twenty years. Dr. Cummings has led sports medicine and trauma training for the Barton Health’s Lake Tahoe Sports Medicine Fellowship and travels with the U.S. Men’s and Women’s alpine teams as a member of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Physician Pool.
Dr. Cummings currently sees Tahoe Orthopedic & Sports Medicine patients in Stateline, NV and the Carson Valley. He addresses general issues in the musculoskeletal system with a focus on shoulder and knee care as well as arthroscopy and arthroplasty, two minimally invasive surgical approaches to address joint pain.
Dr. Cummings enjoys supporting athletic training for high school sports teams and spending time outdoors with his family. Some of his favorite activities include skiing, waterskiing, mountain biking, hiking, hunting, and golfing.
