MyChart Security Alert: Protect Yourself from Phishing Scams

Barton Health is aware of reports of fraudulent emails and text messages that misuse the MyChart name or logo to trick patients into sharing personal information.

Receiving one of these messages does not mean Barton Health's systems have been breached or that your MyChart account has been compromised. In many cases, scammers obtain email addresses through unrelated sources and use them to send deceptive messages.

Common Signs of a Scam

Be cautious if a message:

  • Promises a free gift, prize, or "Medicare Kit"
  • Asks for your MyChart password or verification code
  • Requests payment information
  • Directs you to an unfamiliar website
  • Urges immediate action or creates a sense of urgency

How to Stay Safe

  • Access MyChart only through the Barton Health website or official MyChart app.
  • Verify the sender's email address before clicking any links.
  • Never share your password or verification codes.

If You Suspect Fraud

  1. Do not click links or open attachments.
  2. Report the message as spam.
  3. Reset your MyChart password if you entered your credentials.
  4. Review your account contact information.
