Your Health Is Essential

Medical services at Barton Memorial Hospital and outpatient clinical offices are open with safety protocols in place. Your health is essential, and the providers at Barton who make it a priority urge you to do the same.

Don’t put your health on hold; postponing or neglecting the care you need can have detrimental effects on your short and long-term health. Those with chronic medical conditions should continue to see their provider to ensure proper maintenance and oversight. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 or proceed to Barton’s 24/7 Emergency Department, and if you are in need of care, don’t delay in seeking an appointment.

The safety of our patients and staff continue to be our top priority and our offices have implemented safety precautions including:

  • requiring face masks
  • screening patients
  • limiting visitation at office appointments and within Barton Memorial Hospital
  • updated common areas for social distancing
  • heightened disinfecting practices
  • limiting some appointments and procedures

Your doctor will determine if your care is appropriate for a virtual (telehealth) or in-person visit. Please call your doctor's office to speak to your health team about your care.


Operational Changes & Updates

Barton Memorial Hospital

  • Barton Memorial Hospital is accessible through the Front Lobby from Monday-Saturday 5:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Patients and visitors will be screened for symptoms of respiratory illness prior to entry. After hours and Sunday access is via the Emergency Department entrance, located at the rear of the hospital.
  • Barton’s 24/7 Emergency Department is accessible at the rear of the hospital for emergent medical services.
  • Outpatient lab services will be fulfilled at our Barton Laboratory 1067 4th Street location. Lab services at Barton Memorial Hospital will be available for inpatients, as well as patients with scheduled ancillary services such as Radiology, Medical Imaging, EKG or Cardiology.
  • Visitation restrictions within Barton Memorial Hospital; We understand how important it is for patients receiving care at Barton Memorial Hospital to have family, friends and loved ones at their bedside. Barton allows one designated support person for admitted patients in the acute care units of the hospital, Family Birthing Center and the Emergency Department, as long as the patient is not COVID positive or suspected COVID positive. All visitors are required to wear a mask and will be screened upon entry. Please contact the Skilled Nursing Facility for their visitation policy. 

Outpatient Medical Offices & Specialty Services

Barton Health medical offices are open and seeing patients; your care team will determine if your care is appropriate for a virtual or in-person visit. For in-person visits, patients will be screened virtually prior to your appointment and will wait outside the office or in your car. Visitors should be kept to a minimum and may not be able to enter the office with you.

Outpatient Medical Offices

  • Barton Urgent Care - Patients must call 775.589.8901 before arriving to Barton Urgent Care. Any patients experiencing respiratory symptoms will be referred to Barton's COVID-19 Health Line (530.600.1999). Other patients will be met at the door and escorted to their exam room.
  • Barton Community Health Center - Patients must call 530.543.5623 from outside the building or from their vehicle before entering Barton Community Health Center for their appointment. A Medical Assistant (M.A.) will retrieve you when it is time for appointment. 
  • Lab Services - All outpatient lab services should be fulfilled at our Barton Laboratory 1067 4th Street location. Lab services at Barton Memorial Hospital will be available for inpatients, as well as patients with scheduled ancillary services such as Radiology, Medical Imaging, EKG or Cardiology.
Specialty Services
  • Orthopedics - Orthopedics appointments are now offered virtually, or if in-person care is needed, can been seen in office:
    • South Lake Tahoe: Monday-Friday
      Carson City: Monday-Friday
      Incline Village: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
      Zephyr Cove: Monday

    • Urgent, same day appointments will be taken, but patients must call the office first; please call 530.539.6600 for South Lake Tahoe scheduling or 775.783.3065 for Carson City scheduling.
    • Osteoporosis/ bone health services will be provided virtually, with in-office appointments as appropriate.
  • Rehabilitation/ Physical Therapy Services - Rehabilitation appointments will be seen at all three locations: Barton Memorial Hospital, Robert Maloff Center, Stateline Medical Center or via a Virtual Visit. Patients with appointments will be contacted regarding the location appointment; please call 530.539.6600 for scheduling.

Barton Wellness & Performance

  • Wellness - In person events and indoor group classes have been suspended or may be offered virtually; please call 530.539.6620 to learn more.
  • Barton Performance - Outdoor and virtual fitness and performance programs are available. Learn more about Barton Performance's current programs.

Barton Services

  • Health Information Management/ Medical Records - Health Information Management (HIM)/ Medical Records is closed to the public until further notice. Medical Records may be requested through HIM by calling 530.543.5900 or emailing medicalrecords@bartonhealth.org.
  • Customer Service - Customer Service is closed to the public until further notice. For Customer Service, guests may call 530.543.5930 Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, or pay your bill online: www.bartonhealth.org/billpay.
  • The Attic Thrift Store - The Attic Thrift Store is closed until further notice.

Financial Relief

Barton Health understands this is a difficult period across the country and within our own community. We are committed to providing high-quality care, and are prepared to care for those who may need it during the COVID-19 pandemic. Barton has made adjustments to offer financial relief during this challenging time:

  • For patients experiencing financial setback as a result of a layoff or furlough, we are offering a 90 day deferral of payment plans.
  • We've extended our Financial Assistance Policy to current accounts and accounts going back 18 months, ensuring more accounts are able to qualify. This program provides financial assistance to patients who do not qualify for other programs. Additionally, we have temporarily reduced the paperwork requirements for this program.
  • For patients without insurance, we are offering a discount of 30%.
