The safety of our patients and staff continue to be our top priority and we have implemented safety precautions including:
- Patients with symptoms of respiratory disease will be required to wear an N-95 respirator while in any Barton facility per California Department of Public Health
- use of virtual visits, when medically appropriate
- limiting visitation within Barton Memorial Hospital
- screening patients and all visitors
- updated common areas for social distancing
- heightened disinfecting practices
Visiting Barton Memorial Hospital
Barton Memorial Hospital is accessible through the main entrance from Monday-Saturday 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. After hours and Sunday access is via the Emergency Department entrance, located at the rear of the hospital. Patient visitation hours: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Patients and visitors will be screened prior to entry. Face masks are optional, however any patients with symptoms of respiratory disease will be required to wear an N-95 respirator while in any Barton facility and any visitors with symptoms will not be permitted to enter a Barton facility (exceptions may be allowed as determined by a patient's care team and the supervisor on shift).
Masks may be reinstated if there is an outbreak or high transmission levels in the community. Skilled Nursing Facility will be requested to mask during medium transmission levels.
Additional Barton Memorial Hospital visitation limitations include:
- Three visitors are allowed in a patient’s room at a time; there is no limit on the number of visitors a patient has during their stay. Visitors must be 16 year of age or older.
- Family Birthing Center: There is no limit on the number of visiting family members a patient has during their stay. Families are encouraged to limit visitation to three family members in the room at a time. Visitors must be 16 year of age or older. Doulas and birth coaches are not counted towards visitor room allowance.
- Skilled Nursing Facility: please contact the Skilled Nursing Facility for their visitation policy.
- A spiritual support visitor, such as a priest or rabbi, is counted towards visitor/support person allowance and must comply with visitor policies.
- Special accommodations may be made for patients in critical care facing end-of-life circumstances. Please speak to the attending physician or nursing supervisor on duty.
- Staff will offer other means of communicating with family and loved ones including video conferencing and telephone calls.
