Manage Your Post-Op Pain

Chronic pain, if not controlled, can perpetuate and contribute to other physical and mental ailments. Additionally, any sleeplessness/ sadness stemming from chronic pain can also lead to a dependence on opioids or even multiple surgeries. Fortunately, there are alternative solutions to hep manage pain, both acute and chronic.

Discuss with your physician some of the following options to help manage your pain:

  • Activity modifications
  • Medications
  • Anti-inflammatories
  • Neuropathic medications
  • Cognitive behavioral therapies
  • Acupuncture

Additionally, a physiatrist may be able to offer a variety of nonsurgical treatments for acute and chronic pain, including:

  • X-ray or ultrasound-guided steroid injections
  • Stem cell treatment
